Best Action Yet! Can't wait for book 4 coming in the Fall of 2016.

I received an ARC copy for an honest opinion. I have read the first two books of the series and have been totally caught up in the story. I have been a school librarian and know this is just the right read for both boys (a lot of action and intensity) and for girls (love of horses and loving support of friends).

This is the best action of the series so far, just when you thought it couldn't get any better. Nightwing the Destroyer has awakened from his four hundred year sleep and is back to challenge Star for control of the Pegasus herds of Anok. Star has to learn how to fight like a warrior in spite of his injuries, to meet Nightwing's challenge. The fate of the herds depends on it. Very exciting!

Um. This book made me cry. I’m a grown lady. This is a book for middle graders (I like to read along with my son). And…I CRIED. So yeah. This book is EPIC and will sneak up on ya, so watch out!

It starts off with a serious bang and keeps up the intensity. The herds are lining up on the two sides in a long-coming war. Former enemies are now aligned, and it’s not always smooth sailing. The in-fighting on the same team reminded me of Avengers. They’re forced to work together, though, when faced with enslavement at the hands (or hooves, rather) of the enemy, and that was a really cool dynamic to watch at work. It was also fun to see the different cultures and ways of the various herds. There’s lots of training to do, spywork, skirmishes, and danger at every turn. Relationships will be tested, and Starfire, the main hero, is constantly questioned, both from without and from within, about whether he truly is the hero and leader he’s supposed to be. I think that’s the coolest part of this book—watching his journey. The descendants believe in him, but can he believe in himself? And that ending…! Can’t wait for the next book!

A Very Enjoyable Book and Certainly not the Last.

A very good book. I like how pegasi learn to help each other for a common cause---defeat Nightwing and to survive. Just to let you know, this isn't the last book. And the artwork, very enjoyable. I would recommend this to teens and above because there is violence. But I love this series despite being twenty-seven years old. Happy reading!

If you are looking for a how-to Better Homes and Gardens or Martha Stewart book this is NOT for you. If you want to be inspired by artistic creativity then buy this book with an open mind. Obviously the last reviewer has no sense of personal style and needs simplistic step-by-step books to tell her how to decorate.

1. If you are looking for a book to shelve next to your Jane Austen collection this is not for you.

2. If you do not have a sense of humor this is not for you.

3. If your idea of decorating consists of flowery doilies and antique dolls this is not for you.

Relevant text for ALL teachers - novice or experienced

I have been teaching for 16 years, and I purchased this text to prepare for a training in my new position as a trainer/support person for other teachers. It is well-written, concise, and contains invaluable information for any teacher, no matter his or her years of experience, grade level or subject area. It gives background on how the student population we serve is changing, and how our teaching needs to be structured in order to meet their diverse needs. ALL teachers should read this book!

Excellent Information

Great read. If you are new to either web penetration testing or kali linux, you'll learn a ton of very useful tools and techniques on how to determine hack-ability of a website. If you're not new to this, you'll be able to use this book as a great reference. YOu get tons of info and how-to's for each vulnerability. You get right to the nitty-gritty. The author attempt to help you get into the mind set of a person who would hack your site which helps to determine the various attack vectors. There were a few vectors mentioned that I did not think of, including some very useful shortcuts along the way. You could never really say this type of book is ever really "complete", but this is the most complete book I've read on the subject to date. Highly recommend it if you are on the fence.

The examples used in the book were extremely trivial and did not offer a lot of real insight into anything especially for the price tag. Save yourself the money and visit the OWASP site and their free documentation.

This book is very worthwhile.

I liked this book because the author gives a good immersion on the theme, he introduces about the ecosystem of web applications, the needs of security, the structure, major flaws and the possible attackers. The steps to execute the penetration test are crucial and he presented the points that you need to carry on, exploring the flaws with the possible doors and the best tools. Security technology is an activity where you can never stop, you have to have caution and your team prepared to solve the flaws fast as possible.

This book makes me understand what I need to do, what is more important, this subject is so dynamic that you never feel totally comfortable to deal with, but now I can see what an efficient pen test is like. So this book delivers what it promises and I would recommend for anyone who work or are interested on this topic, this book is very worthwhile.

About the Author
Born in 1916 in New York City, Harold Robbins was a millionaire by the time he was twenty. He lost his fortune by speculating on the price of sugar before the outbreak of World War II. Later, his fabulously successful career as a novelist, with many of his books turned into movies, would once again make him incredibly wealthy. For many years, Robbins enjoyed the high life among the rich and famous; he owned a huge yacht and had houses on the French Riviera and in Beverly Hills. His novels often mirrored his own experiences and were often people with the characters he had met. He died at the age of eighty-one, survived by his wife, Jann, and his two daughters, Caryn and Andreana.

Never Read This!

Set in New York City in the early 1950's, "Never Leave Me" is about a man on the make, Brad Rowan, owner of a small, independent advertising firm. Brad is given the opportunity to go to work for a major steel company as their public relations executive at a tremendous increase in salary and perks. However, he finds the aggressive tactics and ethics of the CEO, Matt Brady, questionable, so he turns down the offer. This refusal is ironic, since Brad himself has exhibited many self-centered, unethical traits also. The book flits from scene to scene, with little character or plot development and little attention paid to detail. I was constantly wondering whether a day or month had passed between scenes. How did Brad manage to fall hopelessly in lust with Elaine Schuyler the moment he met her? Why does he instantly forget about his loving, devoted wife Marge? Why does Matt Brady set out to destroy Brad's business by forcing all his clients to cancel their contracts? Why does Brad's assistant Chris jump ship and go to work for Matt Brady? Although I know the setting was New York City in the 1950's, the references to women as dames and babes really wore on me. The steamy sex scenes were too graphic, and in some instances, physically impossible. This tale of "lust and greed" has no redeeming qualities other than its brevity (268 pages) and the fact that Brad eventually returns to his happy family.

I first read this book when i was a teenager 45 years ago ,,, and re-reading it 45 years later I still loved his writing and style ... please bring back all his old "classics" they are masterpieces of an era and his style is very much copied all this time later and is rarely surpassed ... great book and a great writer and story-teller ...

Lust, sex, betrayal and greed....

This was my first Harold Robbins novel. The story line was very interesting and really pulls you rapidly along. This is a reprint from the 1954 novel, with all the then censored scenes returned to the story, as the author originally intended to present the story. You will see why many of these were deleted from the novel in 1954! This is a wild ride of a story, filled with lust,sex,trust, betrayal and greed in many forms, and the attempt to see which of these drives people the strongest. One man's lust leads to a major collision with his family on one end and a business enemy on the other. A death is the only way out, yet no one sees this coming. This combination of ingredients is apparently classic "sexy" writing by Harold Robbins.
