Get Ready to Cast Your Net!

Through the reach of the internet, our world is no longer confined to what we can see with the natural eye but now includes a multitude of information that is streaming through the vast universe of the internet. The expanse of that universe can seem daunting to the average user, especially when attempting to navigate it to find or to share information. In the book Netcasters, Craig Von Buseck has provided us with a GPS for the net which allows us to visualize its use to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, not only to our neighbors but to the ends of the earth. Wherever the internet can take us is how far we can reach the lost with this, the good news, fulfilling the great commission given to us by Jesus himself.
Von Buseck takes the reader on a journey through the tangled World Wide Web, using stories of lives that were changed through use of different venues of social media, he plants the seeds of possibility into the reader for the type of change that can be accomplished through something as simple as an email or a chat line. He presents the internet as a mode of one-on-one communication that can have life altering effects on those who choose to seek answers to spiritual questions using the search capabilities of the internet. The author interweaves definitions of internet tools with examples of their potential along with scriptural references that point back to the mandate to share the gospel wherever we go. He issues this as a challenge while simultaneously providing the how-to, covering it with God’s grace and mercy so as to put the reader in a place of peace about the mechanics of the process. Von Buseck translates a complicated new world for some into a format that is user friendly and entirely within reach of the non-technical.
This book is a must read for any ministry who wants to expand their reach beyond the four walls of their church. If you are looking for a book that provides both spiritual insight and practical strategies to help you reach the lost through rapidly evolving internet, then this is the book for you! In Net Casters Using the Internet to Make Fishers of Men by Craig Von Buseck, Craig opens up the book with the most important question in using the internet to reach the lost; why? Laying the biblical framework of “netcasting” from Matthew 28:19-20, Von Buseck explains that using the internet to reach the lost is not only an opportunity, but a necessity. Expanding upon the idea that when Jesus said to go and make disciples, he didn’t leave us without the tools to do so and he goes on to point out that the internet is one of the most powerful tools our day has to offer.
After casting the vison, Von Buseck goes on to give practical techniques and methods for readers to become net casters themselves. Using his own testimony, as well as multiple testimonies from other well-known figures and organizations, Craig gives hope and courage that having a great impact on the lost using the internet is not only attainable to the reader, but not as difficult as it might seem.
When it comes to the content, Net Casters is packed with insightful and detailed information through discussing how the reader can utilize various platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, Blogging, Podcasts and much more. The internet is an amazing tool that God has given us to take a quantum leap into evangelism. Inspired by his connection to Internet evangelism day, Von Buseck determined that is was time to write this book, that would assist people in becoming Net Casters - Fisher of men on the net.
