This is a great book on mental science and the art of manifestation, but it must be studied to be understood. It is not a light read, so take your time with each chapter and passage. It is profound and very enlightening.

Dominic Roskrow is an award-winning drinks writer who has been a journalist for more than 20 years. He edits Whiskeria, the world's biggest whisky magazine, and writes regularly for Whisky Magazine (of which he was Editor for four years), Harpers, Drinks International, Malt Advocate, and Rupert Murdoch's new iPad newspaper, The Daily. Author of The World's Best whiskies - 750 Unmissable Drams from Train to Tokyo (2010), Need To Know Whiskies (2008), and Collins Gems: Whisky (2009), Dominic has visited most of the distilleries of Scotland, Ireland, and America, and travels regularly to distilleries around the world in search of new drams. Great book if you love whisky

I'm a new whisky lover and recently joined a whisky club (people contribute a bottle and pay some dues). I bought this book to share with the other members and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Each article has a short story about the origin and nature of the whisky as well as some tasting notes. I love that I can read a little background information about the whiskies I'm trying out. Whiskies are a lot like people -- each have their own stories and some of them are fascinating to downright bizarre. And this book is not limited to only single-malt scotches either. You will find reviews for whisky and bourbons from around the globe. In my experience, I've really enjoyed branching out to regions not known for whisky production as they produce some great flavours.

Keep in mind that this is not a ratings guide like Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2012 although it does have some basic tasting notes. You will also not find prices either (but it does have a link to the distillery's website for each whisky). So you may become excited about a particular whisky only to find that it is out of your price range.

If you are new to whisky, then I suggest reading some random pages. You will learn a lot. If you like to have whisky tastings, buy this book and place it next to the bottles. Because talking about whisky is half the fun of drinking them!

Great gift for a fellow whisky lover. This whiskey "compendium" is not so much a guide of whiskies you should check out in your lifetime as the title suggests. Instead, it's more like a collection of every whisky that has every been created with detailed notes on each whisky's history, flavor, and drinking suggestions. The book includes multiple ages of many bottles, and special editions, many of which an average connoisseur will never get their hands on. Even so, it's cool to have an enourmous checklist, and be able to measure your notes with the "professionals.'"

About the Author
John J. Macionis (pronounced "ma-SHOW-nis") was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He earned a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a doctorate in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania.

His publications are wide-ranging, focusing on community life in the United States, interpersonal intimacy in families, effective teaching, humor, new information technology, and the importance of global education. I was so looking forward to receiving this book. I was sorely disappointed. I'm sure some of the information presented was cutting edge 10, 15, 20 years ago. On top of the out dated info, there was some that was just incorrect. If you are simply looking for a book on historic investigative concepts and technology, then you may be pleased. I was not.

Love the Laws of Love

There is something about the books coming out of Prentiss Productions. Each book I read seems to evoke growth, awareness, and happiness. To create and maintain this type of perspective to share with the world is a true gift. I am an avid reader, but few writers elevate my consciousness and level of overall happiness. Each book provides life lessons ripe for adoption and bring a combination of joy and awe into my life. I found the passage Chris shared with his wife to be incredible. I sat down and wrote a letter to the love of my life about the love we will share. The book provided insight into what it takes to keep love alive. Thank you for sharing and providing assistance on my personal journey to forgive and appreciate the Dealbreakers of the past (mine and theirs). Thank you.
