Please note this is the same novel as "The knock off" . It was renamed before publishing.

I never get why I love these books. My idea of fashion is whatever I pull out of the wardrobe first but I still cant get enough of stories like these.

Imogen is Editor in chief of Glossy, a high end fashion magazine located in the heart of NYC.

Due to an illness Imogen had no choice but to take a break from work. She returns to the office after her recovery to find everything has changed. Most of her old team have gone and in their place is her old assistant eve. However eve is not the meek little assistant she remembered. Shes now a Harvard graduate intent on dragging glossy in to the digital age and its up to Imogen to adapt or die.

I think Eve really made this novel. She's a complete sociopath who makes her workers sleep at the office and go to spin classes with her. If they so much as look crooked at her she fires them. She really is a character you'd love it hate.

Despite all the upheaval at the office Imogen is determined to catch up. She is loyal to a fault. No matter what eve threw at her she just smiled and walked away. I mean she's the editor in chief. Isn't she like the final boss!??

There were times I wished she would go all Miranda Priestly on her!

Although saying that it's Imogens loyalty to Glossy and work ethic that secures her place when things goes belly up for Eve.

This was really an addictive read. I found it hard to put down.

Anyone whose ever had a bitchy psychopathic boss will love this!

I loved every minute of Techbitch and would recommend it to fellow fortysomething journalists, editors and publishers who acknowledge digital change in our industry but will forever love print too. Mums especially. It was fun to read something frothy while working on some serious content at work, and why not, we all need to relax with some trash now and then. This was chick lit with a message, too. It made me feel good.

About the Author

Jonathan Berk is the A.P. Giannini Professor of Finance at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University and is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Before coming to Stanford, he was the Sylvan Coleman Professor of Finance at Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to earning his Ph.D., he worked as an Associate at Goldman Sachs (where his education in finance really began).

Professor Berk’s research interests in finance include corporate valuation, capital structure, mutual funds, asset pricing, experimental economics, and labor economics. His work has won a number of research awards including the TIAA-CREF Paul A. Samuelson Award, the Smith Breeden Prize, Best Paper of the Year in The Review of Financial Studies, and the FAME Research Prize. His paper, “A Critique of Size-Related Anomalies,” was selected as one of the two best papers ever published in The Review of Financial Studies. In recognition of his influence on the practice of finance he has received the Bernstein-Fabozzi/Jacobs Levy Award, the Graham and Dodd Award of Excellence, and the Roger F. Murray Prize.

He served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Finance, Director of the Western Finance Association, �Academic Director of the Financial Management Association, is a Fellow of the Financial Management Association, and is a member of the advisory board of the Journal of Portfolio Management.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Professor Berk is married, with two daughters, and is an avid skier and biker.

Peter DeMarzo is the Mizuho Financial Group Professor of Finance and current Vice President of the American Finance Association. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He currently teaches MBA and Ph.D. courses in Corporate Finance and Financial Modeling. In addition to his experience at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Professor DeMarzo has taught at the Haas School of Business and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and he was a National Fellow at the Hoover Institution.

Professor DeMarzo received the Sloan Teaching Excellence Award at Stanford, and the Earl F. Cheit Outstanding Teaching Award at U.C. Berkeley.

Professor DeMarzo has served as an Associate Editor for The Review of Financial Studies, Financial Management, and the B.E. Journals in Economic Analysis and Policy, as well as a Director of the American Finance Association. He has served as Vice President and President of the Western Finance Association. Professor DeMarzo’s research is in the area of corporate finance, asset securitization, and contracting, as well as market structure and regulation. His recent work has examined issues of the optimal design of contracts and securities, and the influence of information asymmetries on stock prices and corporate investment. He has received numerous awards including the Western Finance Association Corporate Finance Award and the Barclays Global Investors/Michael Brennan best-paper award from The Review of Financial Studies.

Air Fryer Recipes Galore

This book is a clearly written recipe guide for use with air fryers. It opens with a pitch for air fryers, making the case that they lend a rich, crispy flavor to fried foods without requiring fattening oil. They can do this because they circulate hot air quickly, cook with oils naturally present, and generate no excess grease. Better than convection ovens, according to the author. The book consists mainly of recipes – 100 in all – organized in terms of meal categories (breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers, snacks, side dishes, and desserts). Each recipe is presented with an overview, list of ingredients, and step-by-step instructions for preparing the item. Many of the recipes are for tasty south of the border foods. Examples of the recipes are apple cinnamon empanadas, blueberry muffins, french toast, omelet, vegetarian pizza, there is quesadillas, chicken tenders, like bean and cheese veggie burger, eggplant Parmesan, bruschetta, potato croquettes, crabcakes, desserts (cheesecake, brownies, cupcakes, chocolate cream pie).

Some recipes don't list the measurements for all ingredients they aren't listed at all, but are in the instructions. There are some recipes that have one ingredient listed and a completely different ingredient called for in the instructions. It was confusing. Also most recipes call for a 7" baking pan, that will not fit properly into my GoWISE fryer.

This book has a few plant-based recipes and easily adaptable ones, which is helpful to me as a vegan, trying to decide whether to invest in an air fryer. The directions are thorough and seem easy; it's formatted nicely for reading on my iPad; there's a T. of C. -- so important in a cookbook, and there's plenty of variety in the contents. There are no pix in the e-version I bought, but other merits compensate. Some narrative enthuses more than we may be used to ("This dish is not only one of the greatest desserts of all time..." -- Crispy Apple Crumble), but he's clearly excited about the potential of his air fryer and how it has allowed his family to eat more healthfully. I'll only know if these accolades are justified by trying the recipes for myself. Reports from other foodies suggest an air fryer is well worth the purchase. His book is def tipping the scale, as I tip-toe towards buying one, too!

looked like it had been handled roughly and there were a ...

The book, even though a rental, looked like it had been handled roughly and there were a couple of loose pages in the middle, they hadn't come off completely, but I am not sure if they will still be in tact by the end of the semester from the way they look. . I took pictures when I first used it 4 days after I received it which was the first time I had used it. It looks like the book had been opened and the front half bent backward under the back half making it seem as if the book is almost in 2 pieces. but attached with glue at the spine.
